Cadillac has an incredible line of performance vehicles called the V-Series. I spent a week with the 2017 Cadillac ATS-V sedan and really liked its blend of ground pounding performance and sumptuous luxury.
While not quite as over-the-top as the 640 horsepower CTS-V, the ATS-V uses a very advanced twin-turbo, V6 engine (interestingly made in Mexico), generating 464 mean sounding horsepower. This is a serious track-ready car with numerous track and race competition-spec traction and performance modes. It also has heavy-duty cooling and massive Brembo six-piston front performance brakes (four piston in the rear). To make sure you can handle all this, the ATS-V and every Cadillac V Series car comes with a free, two-day track experience at the Cadillac V Performance Academy in Las Vegas. I went through the Academy and it’s some serious race training, all behind the wheel of ATS-Vs.
