I spent a fun weekend in Santa Barbara visiting the two Kimpton hotels there. Here’s a look at my room at The Goodland, which is in Goleta, about 15 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. The boutique hotel has great rooms and suites, a big pool and a very cool restaurant and bar.
The hotel is done in what they call “Bohemian Chic” and it works well with the laid-back Central Coast vibe you get in Santa Barbara. The area is very popular for wine tasting and the small town of Los Olivos is less than an hour away. There you’ll find over 50 tasting rooms in a two-block area, representing many local vineyards and winemakers.

The food is excellent, we had a fun dinner at Outpost, the hotel restaurant. They focus on fresh, seasonal offerings, made with locally-sourced ingredients and provisions. They also offer a wonderful seafood selection.
