I’ve said it before, I love Silvercar. The revolutionary new rental car company is shaking up the industry by streamlining and digitizing the entire rental process. It’s the Uber of car rentals and like Uber, everything is done via the Silvercar app. They also separate themselves from the herd by only offering one type and color of car, silver Audi A4s. Audi A4s loaded with quattro all-wheel-drive, leather seats, in-car Wifi, Google Earth navigation, SiriusXM and other tech and performance goodies.

I picked up my Silvercar Audi A4 at LAX and the process, as always was quite easy. The entire rental process is done via the Silvercar app. I reserved the car on the app, then when I arrived at LAX, there’s a button on the app to alert the Silvercar team to my arrival. You then hop on the LAX shuttle bus to the cel phone waiting lot, where a Silvercar rep is waiting. He takes you to the Silvercar location, about a mile away, and delivers you to your Audi. The app is again used, this time to scan a barcode on the car’s winshield. The scan initiates the rental and actually unlocks the car. When it’s time to return the car, the in-car navigation directs you right back to Silvercar’s office and the app ends the rental, emailing you a receipt.
