Fortunately, one of LA’s most iconic lunch spots is also one of the city’s best. I took the Firebird out and headed over Coldwater Canyon for a lunch at the Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel
The stars were aligned and it took me 20 minutes to get from Studio City to the hotel via the canyon. No matter how jaded you might be, driving up that legendary driveway to that portico entrance still excites me every time.
I made my way to the Polo Lounge and then was led out to the patio for my lunch. I had a simple lunch, the Prime New York Strip Steak salad and an orange juice. Built on a green salad and grilled vegetables, there’s a sliced 6 ounce filet on top, along with blue cheese crumble. The salad was served with a basket of fresh bread and was just a wonderful lunch.
With hours from 7:30 AM – 1:30 AM, I’ve always loved how the Polo Lounge changes throughout the day. In the morning it sees hotel guests, locals and power breakfasters, more guests, foodies and dealmakers throughout the day. At night it’s one of the city’s best dining spots, and the energy heats up with live music. Open til 1:30 AM, it’s also a great after-fun or after-club place for a great bite to eat. The cycle starts up again in the morning a few hours later.
