Dubai was an amazing experience, my first trip to this amazing place. I’ll be writing in detail about all the experiences individually, but I just wanted to offer an overview here of the whole trip. I went as a guest of Hilton to explore all their amazing properties in and around Dubai, which include Hiltons, Doubletree by Hiltons, Conrads and Waldorf Astorias.
My home in Dubai was the really amazing Doubletree by Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach, right on the beach at the edge of the JBR area. Close to the tram and complete with an amazing resort pool and private beach, it was the perfect base to explore Dubai. The hotel is new and beautiful, all 1,2 and even 3 bedroom luxury apartments, some with kitchens.
My one-bedroom corner unit was awesome, with a huge balcony overlooking the Dubai Marina area and a large, stylish living room, a powder room, large dressing room and closet and big bedroom.
Beyond Dubai, we headed to Ras al Khaimah, a neighboring emirate in the UAE. For those playing along at home, Dubai is not a country, it’s an emirate (like a state) within the country of the UAE, the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi is another well known emirate that is part of the UAE. RAK, as it’s known, is another emirate in the UAE and a very fun beach resort. We spent the day at the Doubletree by Hilton Spa and Resort Marjan Island. I had a blast parasailing and riding a jet ski.
My final experiences in Dubai were at the amazing Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah on the super-luxurious (and man-made) Palm Island.
After spending the day at the Waldorf, I had an incredible dinner at Social By Heinz Beck, the hotel’s gastronomic restaurant.
