Now, the property is proud to host the Second Annual Diamond Ball, a gala evening of inspiration committed to saving lives. Held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, the mission of The Diamond Ball is to raise funds for animal charities that save lives. The beneficiary of the 2014 gala is the Wounded Veterans Initiative of Canine Companions for Independence (CCI).

Canine Companions for Independence provides highly-trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities. Through Canine Companions’ Wounded Veterans Initiative, veterans with physical disabilities such as hearing loss, limb amputations and spinal cord injuries are served. Established in 1975, Canine Companions has five regional training centers across the country. Canine Companions is recognized worldwide for the excellence of its dogs, and the quality and longevity of the matches it makes between dogs and people.

Held over the Veteran’s Day Weekend (Saturday, November 8), The Diamond Ball tickets are $250 per person. The evening includes a silent and live auction, a four-course dinner presented by Executive Chef Pedro Contreras, as well as music and dancing. The evening also includes The Diamond Drop, an opportunity where guests can donate gems and jewelry in support of the cause. An on-site jeweler provides guests with an appraisal and then the jewels are transformed into an official donation. Every donation valued for $1,000 or more is entered to win the Opportunity Drawing that includes round-trip airfare for two, $1,000 spending money and a five-night stay one of ten Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts including, Bachelor Gulch, Cancun, Grand Cayman, Half Moon Bay, Kapalua, Key Biscayne, Laguna Niguel, Lake Tahoe, New York City and San Francisco.
