The opening of Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort & Spa, Hainan on September 28, 2014 will mark Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ much anticipated and first luxury resort in the ‘Oriental Hawaii’ of Mainland China.  Located on the southern most tip of Hainan Island and a 40-minute drive from Sanya International Airport, the sprawling 45-acre resort with 340 guestrooms and eight two-story villas commands 180-degree sea and mountain views and has direct access to an immaculate white-sand beach that stretches 985 feet. I’m a big fan of Shangri-La Hotels and have stayed at their amazing properties in Hong Kong, Paris and Istanbul and can assure readers this property will also be amazing. Each hotel features the brand’s unique Asian style, luxury and personal service.
