I’ve lived in Los Angeles for a long time and as a frequent visitor to Pasadena, I’ve driven by the Langham Huntington, Pasadena many times. For my first visit to the property, I decided to do a luxury weekend getaway to the Langham and to Pasasdena. This is my first stay at any Langham property and I am quite impressed with the overall guest experience and the luxury I’m finding. To start my getaway off right and to get there in style, I rented an Audi A4 from Silvercar.

The view from my room

First impression
This is a beautiful, grand hotel surrounded by huge mansions in Pasadena. Although the hotel is crowded with guests on a busy weekend, there was no wait to check in. We were warmly greeted and quickly directed to our room. Design in the public spaces is modern and stylish, with accents and little touches to remind you of the storied history. Although the hotel was first opened in 1907, it was renovated (actually rebuilt from the ground up) in the 1990’s, creating what is essentially a brand new hotel. The design stays true to the original Myron Hunt style, but provides guests an ultra-modern infrastructure, necessary at a luxury property.

My room
I have one of the hotel’s Deluxe King rooms, on the fourth floor, with an amazing view of the gardens and skyline beyond. It’s a huge room, with almost two walls of windows. The light and view were amazing when we first walked in. The corner room has more space than standard rooms and includes a nice work desk as well as a comfortable arm chair with an ottoman. Design is classic luxury with swags on the windows and other rich touches.
