One night during my recent London luxury adventure, I left the sanctuary that was my amazing room at the Shangri-La London, at The Shard, and headed out in an Uber to Hunter 486. This upscale British restaurant is inside The Arch London, a wonderful boutique hotel (and one of the few that’s family-owned). You can read in detail about my dinner experience on here. I should note we used Uber pool a lot during this trip, with most trips around the city under ten pounds. We also got ourselves an Oyster card, to use the tube. London visitors can get a cheap (er) Visitor Oyster card ONLY by ordering in advance. You can’t buy it once you arrive in London. Also, be sure to register your Oyster card online. We lost a newly-refilled card on a trip to Hampton Court Palace, had we registered it we could have stopped the card and gotten a replacement.

Cocktail in London
A pre-dinner cocktail

Hunter 486 occupies a large space in the lobby of the hotel. There is a stylish bar area and the restaurant and bar, with its expert mixologists, is quite popular with locals for drinks. There are also several private rooms including a Martini Library that would be at home inside a London gentlemen’s club.
